Water in New York City

New York's water is famously good and famously unfiltered. The city started a programme with farmers to implement best management practices that helped reduce pollution going into the water. It also protected vegetation along streams, so that it could filter out any pollutents that might otherwise reach sources. There have been general investments in economic development and educational opportunities for those communities as well.
