The halal travel industry is experiencing rapid growth. Islam is the world's fastest growing and most youthful religion. In many majority Muslim countries, the middle class is growing. Second and third generation Muslims are entering the workforce in greater numbers. This means they have more disposable income to spend on holidays. According to the global Muslim travel index 2021, the number of Muslim travellers has gone up from 108 million to 160 million between 2013 and 2019.
