The Effects of Card Tricks on Choice Blindness

In the original experiment, we showed participants pairs of pictures of faces and asked them to choose which one they found most attractive. Then at times I used a card trick where when they picked up one card, it would be transformed into the opposite. So when I then asked them, so why did you prefer this face? They were actually holding the face. And it was you who was switching the cards. We've done this with both men and women and both with male and female pairs of pictures. It depends on how dissimilar their pictures are and so on.
