The Aswan Haidehame Dam

The ancient Egyptians called their land, Kemet, the Black Land because that's what they were farming. The untamed Nile River was predictable to a certain extent, but when it went wild, it went way wild. By the 1960s, the money had been found to build the mother of all dams and we call it the Aswan Haidehame. But in the process of building this dam, a lot of ancient sites were going to be flooded and a lot of sites inevitably were lost.
