The Missing Link Between Monkeys and Humans
Eugene de bois was an anatomist from the duchy of limburg in the netherlands. In 18 91 he and his team discovered a particularly interesting skull cap. Dubois believed this to be too ape like to be passed off as the missing link, and therefore continued his search. Further searching revealed a fossilized thigh bone of an upright individual. Debois determined that this belonged to the same individual as the skull cap and the tooth. And upon measurement of the cranial volume at 900 cubic centimetres, he determined that this upright walking individual with a brain capacity mid between modern humans and modern apes,. He renamed his fossil pithicanthropus erect
