The Role of IT in Networking

In my entire career, 95% of them, IT is not touching these networks for a number of different reasons. And automation engineers are some of the smartest people I've ever met. The good ones have like multidisciplinary engineering skill ranging from this primary core skill of automation to mechanical, electrical, process, chemical engineering. So, there's not a capability problem here. But there is this very abrupt all of a sudden in the last couple of years like, "Oh, now these networks are tipping over, now I got to be an IT guy too?"
