The communication does need to be very, very close with both the surgeon and the anesthesiologist. Backing up the tube so you safely don't lose the airway just in case something unexpected happens with placing the tracheostomy. The patient is going to be asleep. And as we always do with managing patients in the OR, we will keep them safe, comfortable in a sleep.
