The epigenome is erased and reconstructed from one generation to the next. But there's evidence that adverse outcomes in one generation can be evident in subsequent generations. The question is, what is the mechanism that makes that happen? We were unable to find actually the perpetuation of a DNA methylation signature to the next generation - suggesting that maybe something else might be going on.
