How Does Not Having a Computer Science Background Influence Your AI Research?
I'd love to hear a little bit about how that not having a CS background when you first started working with Hofstadter and getting into AI. I think at least my interest and the interest of other people in our group was more on the side of how do we understand intelligence more broadly than individual human intelligence? Rather than any kind of desire to build say AI systems for a particular application. So it was much more basic research much more inspired by what's now called cognitive science.
