The Effect of Air Resistance on the Earth
Every object will accelerate downwards at a rate of about 9.8 meters per second, regardless of the mass of the object. This is not due to any difference in the force of gravity. It's just because if you look at a feather or a leaf or anything like that, the surface area is massive relative to its mass. And the greater the surface area, the more air resistance acts against it.
