Three trans minors, their parents and a doctor sued several state officials claiming the act violated the US Constitution's guarantees of due process and equal protection. They moved for a preliminary injunction to prevent the act from going into effect on July 1, 2023. The Sixth Circuit said that parental right to control the medical care of your children is so fundamental as a constitutional right that anything that infringes on it must survive strict scrutiny.
