Cannons on Fire

Cannoneer's job is to adjust the angle of a magnifying glass every couple of weeks. If everything is lined up perfectly, the light focuses on the charge of gunpowder. At one p m, the heat ignites the gunpowder and the cannon is supposed to fire. Jahn says it's hard to get the angle exactly right. Sometimes the cannon fires a few minutes early or a little bit late.
