The Neural Crest Cells and the Mystications Syndrome

Theories of why humans don't have floppy ears are one of the mystications syndrome. Adam Wilkins and Tecumseh Fitch think that when you select for reduced aggression, the easiest way for selection to affect this is by changes in the rate of production of neural crest cells. And that incidentally, this has all sorts of consequences for things like floppy ears on the production of white fur patches - but I'm not going too deep down the rabbit hole here.
