The Golden Gate Bridge and the Panama Canal
This was the biggest of its kind. They had built suspension bridges before, but something like this big in this location. This was part of, along with the Hoover Dam, part of steering the US through the Great Depression. I love looking at the Golden Gate Bridge towers and thinking those bits of steel came through the Panama Canal. It's just a completely different part of the globe, isn't it?
