The Importance of Product Liability in Defamation

Not everyone agrees with Eugene that liability for the chatbot is appropriate under current defamation law. Renele Anderson-Jones from the University of Utah has said if the defamatory falsehood is generated by the AI, chatbot, it's harder to conceptualize this within our defamation law framework. Some scholars suggested the remedy here resides more in a product liability model than a defamation model.
