The Risks of Oral History in the NHS

There is no such thing as the history of the NHS, there is only histories and they need to be based on robust evidence. oral history has huge potential to enrich some of those quite drive administrative approaches. They tie us into individual accounts, individual memories could be very positive or very negative. I think is that it holds us to an image of the NHS that may not be terribly helpful. If we want to continue to preserve the NHS now, it limits how we could see the potential for reform in a new style of NHS.
