What Skills Do Newbie UX Researchers Need?

Q: What skills does a newbie UX researcher need to have, or must have, and to what extent so there's so many methods as we talked about before. So what are the kind of fundamentals that you should probably be strongest at for someone who's new to the field? I would absolutely say for qualitative research there's two must have. One is being able to do background contextual ethnographic type interviews where you don't have any kind of prototype or solution design in front of you. And the other is where you're testing the usability of a particular workflow, or maybe you're comparing and contrasting different solution approaches.
