The Ultimate Upaya Is the Bodhisattva Path
Bodhi Chitta arises when these two tendencies come into seeming conflict. The Bodhisattva needs to withdraw from the world, renounce attachment to worldly things so that they can then alleviate the suffering of other beings. I think as a movement we need both in life. We have Manjushri and Ablicatheshra but also Rupa - symbolising wisdom does not mean to cut off from the world... It means to take the plugs out of their ears and actually hear the cries of the suffering of the world.
