He says, obviously you can't just be relying on being found. At the same time, you also need to be findable. So whilst you're getting good, people can find you at the same time. Imagine if your next boss didn't have to read your regume because he already reads your blog. Or imagine losing your job but having a social network of people familiar with your work and ready to help you go out and find a new job? Yes, at all of those would be phenomenal.
