What's the Difference Between the Roman and the Palestrina Versions?
Robert Snow: Esquivel composed two requiems, one in 1608 and the other not long after in 1613. He says they were written to adapt to a new 1570 missile that was being published at the time. In both of those pieces, we actually tracked the gradual set-up rather than the gradual, right? And most of the Spanish requiem work seems to be sort of the best suited for this kind of setting," he says.
