The Bear's Form Stolen, and the King's Man Came Upon Him
Bja the Carl's daughter met Bjorn ring son in a cave. She was overjoyed to be with him, but he said that this was not proper for her because by day he was a beast and by night a man. He told her of his plans: 'I will give you the ring which is under my left hand when I am dead' The queen urged the king to have the beast slain, but he delayed a while. A great body of hunters had come over the mountain ridges; they slew the bear.
