Aristophanes is great at slipping chilling, distopian horror into these beautiful, you know, comedies of of just ribaldry and fun. In order to equalize everybody, you have to elevate naturally ugly and horrifying and horrid. And that can be hard and difficult and can disadvantage people unfairly - but it's the world in which we live. There has to be some sort of difference between beauty and ugliness, or else there's no such thing as beauty, right? You lose everything by flattening it all out into one and just stripping away nature and elevating all that is ugly and decrepit and false. Raig an, that's what happens here.
