Are Estimates Important?
The team would say man we had no idea that there would be so many dependencies. We didn't appreciate that at all at the beginning and we would have done better not to. And I think partially here I'm heavily influenced by some discussion session that I had with people many years ago of the book You're Not So Smart. One thing we came out of this as a very that seemed to be the single most effective thing we could try to do which was to write things down ahead of time.
