Is There a Time in a Place for Ego Lifting?

When i was 12, probably could have trained better. That's when i started training, and it was stupid. When i was like 18, i really got into and i made another round of beginner gains six years into my training career. So so i think there is a time in a place for letting your ego push you a little bit in the gym. And if it's not there, i just don't know if you're going to have the intrinsic nastiness to get into the gym and just kind of leave it all in the gem.
