The Bizarre Shape of a Turtle
The mata mata is a very bizarre shaped animal in the same way. They are meant to look like dead leaves or dead wood or plant material. Their head is very leaf shaped and they've got that arrow shaped to it. So they fall into a consistent pattern in animal evolution of animals evolving ridiculously contorted body shapes to look like plants. It's utterly bizarre to see that in a turtle.
