Domestication of Animals
The social structure of the animal species in the wild plays a huge part in whether or not they can be domesticated. Herd or pack animals with very well de and dominant hierarchies tend to be the animals that accept domestication. Some animals are just jump some are so easily spooked that they become useless to the would be domesticator. This is true of many species of deer. W according to diamond, it's because big horns simply don't accept the dominance of a particular individual when in the wild.
