What's the Point of a Hawk?
The extreme concentration of anti-aircraft weaponry in Ukraine means that aircraft have a limited role. Ben says fighter jets are extremely vulnerable to even 1960s SAM, that service to air missiles. Attack helicopters are even more vulnerable as Russian anti-air weaponry is both effective and numerous. There is a valid comparison to the Battle of Britain when many people think it was the performance of the Spitfire that won the battle.
