The Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis began on November 2, 1962. Fidel Castro wanted the US to end its economic sanctions against Cuba. He also wanted Guantanamo Bay Naval Base back from the U.S. The blockade was eventually lifted in December of that same year.
