Reddit Goes Dark in Protest of API Policy Changes

Thousands of communities on Reddit, also known as sub-readits, had gone dark in protest of how Reddit changed its API policy. A hacker criminal group called LPHV is demanding a $4.5 million ransom fee from Reddit's leadership or the group will release 80 gigabytes of information.
