The Importance of the Eucharist
The burning coal of the Eucharist, the flame of God's very presence is taken from the altar and placed in our mouth. And we experience this transformation by the very fact that we get to come into contact with the Lord God himself. The early church fathers saw this as a type, as a foreshadowing of what happens in the mass. For all of us, it is the fulfillment of this.
