The Difference Between Preventative and Early Intervention
The goal there is to prevent the onset of PTSD or depression, anxiety symptoms after exposure to trauma. Carlton at L in Canada did a national survey of over 6,000 first responders in Canada. And I think that the number of potentially traumatic events that individual first responders might experience within five years of joining their occupation is in the hundreds. For example, there's vicarious trauma experienced by court reporters, for example.
