Don't bring your idealized self to a gathering don't bring your very best behavior. Bring messy humanity right there so that we can connect with each other i think it depends on the context. In trying to performatively kind of pretend that we don't we're missing a lot of opportunity for real authentic relevant connection and some of the examples i looked at at the book are called "the house of genius" where three entrepreneurs share their problems in 90-minute sessions.
