The Impact of Popular Culture on Ukrainians
There's a very vocabulary for discussing Ukrainians. I won't use the terms here as I know, many Ukrainians find them deeply, deeply offensive and I don't wish to offend them. So you can either be sort of like a friendly, but stupid ally or your some sort of evil, sly, Nazi collaborating snake. These are the two roles that are really afforded to Ukrainians within television series and within films. And of course, this combined with the type of over- top propaganda that we see from the state and combined with Vladimir Putin’s own speeches about how they had to rescue Crimea.
