The Different Types of Ethereum Standards
A primitive is something where it's like laying the groundwork, setting an example for what other people can then either fork or at least draw inspiration from. An EIP goes through many phases like draft mode and then review and then it goes to mainnet. It really varies some standards. They get merged in with like a huge protocol update. Some of them just become mainnet and they're official, but they may not actually be used by real projects.
