On Thursday 12 December 2019, the Labour Party suffered one of its worst ever election defeats. The biggest Conservative majority since Margaret Thatcher's third victory back in 1987. Two days after that catastrophic defeat, Team Starmer assembled at a kitchen table in North London. It included Ben Nunn and Jenny Chapman, who would become chair of the campaign.
