The Importance of Belfast at the Turn of the Century
Tommy Miller worked at Harlan and Wolf shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He is assigned to work on Titanic's giant engines that are as imposing as they are powerful. In 1912 his wife dies unexpectedly of tuberculosis leaving him a single father with two grieving children. Tommy decides it's just the sort of new beginning that his broken family needs. With Titanic's maiden voyage set for April he gets a job with White Star instead working as an assistant tech engineer.
