The Ego Is the Object of the Transformation
When you look at yourself and inquire into yourself, there is an ego there. It's in a sense a kind of machine that is designed to help you survive in the world. So it's a mistake also to try and kind of kill your ego, because you need your ego. What you do is you transform your ego by taking a step back and looking at it. And ideally doing that on a collective level, or at least enough people doing it. There's so many touched on this in the last podcast, but it's effectively this inability to recognize that we all have this tribalism is what's created the reaction of Brexit and Trump.
