N hinanese chicken rice is a deceptively simple dish of poached chicken and seasoned rice. Usually served with a small selection of garnishes and condiments, including sliced cucumber and chily sauce. Most people would likely agree that it's best known as being singapore's unofficial national dish. But if you dove a little deeper, the clue to its origin lies in its name. The dish we know and love to day started out as wen chang chicken which was popular in the far south of china.
