The Importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation

Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on the apostles' hands, he offered them money saying, give me also this power. The only intelligible explanation is that there must have been some sort of visible manifestation like that on the day of Pentecost. This provides biblical grounds for the catechism of the Catholic Church's teaching in paragraph 1288 that the sacrament of confirmation in a certain way perpetuates the grace of Pentacost in the church.
