The War on Terror Is Insufficiently Focussed Civilianally
The war on terror is in many, many ways a continuity of the noxious elements. It provides a new opportunity for those elements to take power. As these wars become more agonizing and certainly stretch away from any conclusion, the agony of a kind of cognitive dissonance in american exceptionalism sets in. People who are treated as functionally sub human, the people against whom the war on terror operates, are somehow winning in a rock in afghanistan or so forth.
