It's definitely a target for some designers and not for others. And I think what is a problem is that when you apply for those jobs, you don't know who's at the other end necessarily. But maybe the person doing the screening at the start of the process is only looking at your portfolio site and they're not impressed by it,. It's perfectly valid to say, okay, this person doesn't have the skillset we want.
