The Life of Reverend Frank

He was my emotional lifeline, asking me detailed questions about what I was doing with the men I was having sex with. It didn't occur to me until much later that there was a puriant aspect to what was going on and that he might have been getting off on my teenage fumblings. He grew up in a very different world than I did; no doubt had to twist himself into a complex pretzel to navigate the world as a hidden gay or bisexual man. And however much he may have used me, he also introduced me to the life that I came to embrace. Also taught me how not to be a mentor to LGBTQ people, especially young gay men.
