Lee strasburg is born in the stettel. His family emigrates to the united states. They live on the lower east side. Strasburg starts taking classes at the american laboratory theatre, eventually enrolling in the directing class with his friend and director, harold clerman. Clerman, strasburg and their friend and future producer, charle crawford, decide to start a theatre company in this spirit. It's 19 31, the early days of the great depression.
