The Importance of French Resources in Africa

France is going to look at the African continent as China does or the US does, less about colonialism because it wants those resources. The French would probably prefer creating a stable environment for French companies to work within nations like Niger rather than just extracting the minerals from themselves. In 2017 France has now a duty of vigilance law, so France is telling its own companies that they need to have a duty of Vigilance. That's basically asking companies to make sure they respect social and environmental issues.
