There are two basic needs that animate each and every one of us. One need is their intuitive, is the need for safety. We all really need to feel protected from harm. The other thing we really need to fulfil is a desire to feel the wi worth something. And when you lead somebody, those are your two anchors. They will certainly be animated by those two needs. But how they are satisfied varies depending on the situation. Sometimes people don't even know themselves. It's a matter of maturation in many ways. This changes a lot when it comes to leadership.
Tiziana Casciaro: Power, for All
Tiziana Casciaro is a professor of organizational behavior at the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto. Her research on interpersonal and organizational networks and power dynamics has received distinguished scientific achievement awards from the Academy of Management and has been covered in the New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times, and many other outlets.
