Britain's neolithic people don't seem to have left many later descendants. They buried both complete bodies and cremated remains around the monument. Despite this exceptional break in pre history, the huge gap between the olithic and the bronze age and the people who made them, stonehenge remained. It kept pulling at those who saw it and heard about it for millennia to come.
