Stephanie and I waited in silence for the doll to answer. Knowing that it was only the spirit of a timid little girl didn't really put me much at ease. It seemed like a very long time passed before the doll answered. Cecily, your brother sent us to talk to you. We want to help. My heart leapt up into my throat and I turned to look at Stephanie. Her brow was creased in confusion but she didn't take her eyes off the doll. And who are you? Rather than answer, the doll started weeping.
