The Song Mount Amalpais Speaks
Lou was a vicious alcoholic. He wrote a poem called the Song Mount Amalpais sings in it, he describes his demise. What he did is he went in Nevada to Gary Snyder's camp. There was a bohemian camp there and Lou was going to build a place there. My mom had gone to South America to leave him. She says, you don't need me. You're a drunk. I'm gone. The next day they said, oh, somebody saw him. They called off the search.
