A number of major tech and AI leaders signed a letter saying that there needed to be a six-month pause on training a superior AI version to GPT-4. Morgan Stanley said they believed back in April that chat GPT had been trained GPT-5. But OpenAI all of a sudden start saying, no, we're not training anything.
