Investing in the Ethereum Foundation

Ether was a well-known and much-hyped project even before it launched. It could easily have found investors, but they didn't do that for philosophical and economic reasons. In July 2014, they sold Ether at the price of 1,000 to 2,000 Ether per BTC,. They sold about 60 million Ether for about $18.3 million all before the technology went live. That 60 million Ether is worth billions of dollars today.
